The BYU-Idaho Winter Dancefest

So tonight for my dance class we had to participate in the winter dancefest, which is a ballroom dance competition.
For this Elliott Dennis I chose to be dance partners and dance the Foxtrot. It started with about 90 couples and then went to the second round, which we made. And we also made the quarter-finals...and then the semi-finals...and then the finals! Out of the last seven couples we ended in fifth place, which is actually really pretty good! Oh man, we were so excited.
I'm in a great mood tonight. Seriously, a great mood.

The Ben and Jerrys

As roommates we have become the BJs (Ben and Jerrys). Well, I guess I shouldn't say as roommates, because it's really just me, Heather, Kelli, and Shelly. We eat an obscene amount o Ben and Jerrys ice cream because it's very easyto get it late at night (as well as any other time of day) without walking anywhere. About a month ago we started to save our ice cream containers with the intent of making a christmas tree out of them. Instead we've ended up with a rather large pyramid.

It's amazing but disgusting at the same time. Next semester Kelli and Shelly will take the containers and then leave them for Heather and myself over summer semester so we can continue building the pyramid of ice cream goodness.

Something fun we've discovered in college: Methylene Blue.
It's supposed to be for fish tanks to destroy bacteria but if you mix it with water or another drink it turns your urine blue then green and lasts for days at a time. We're ridiculously idiotic and figured getting a 32 ounce bottle would be fun but we didn't realize it only takes a very small amount of the the methylene blue to do anything. So now we have a TON and we'll probably never use it all, even with all the boys who stop by our apartment specifically to take a couple swigs from the water bottle we've got it mixed into. Still, it's pretty amazing (the taste gets worse and worse, however, with every drink taken).

And we all got Scooby-doo socks for christmas.

'Tis the Season!

Wow, it's been a while!

This past week has been pretty busy, so I haven't had time to write anything before now. I've been studying hard and getting al my papersand study guides done for class, so I guessnot writing for a while is a good thing.

It's the last three weeks of school and I've found that I'm actually very sad. I don't really want to leave my roommates or even this area, despite the cold (it's been VERY cold this week). I have fallen in love with BYU-Idaho and Rexburg. True, there isn't a lot here, but it's still so fun and such a great environment. I'm going to miss Kelli and Shelly a whole lot over winter and summer semesters. We're had a good fall semester together and I canNOT wait until next fall when we get to room together again!!

This evening the five roommates went out to take our apartment Christmas photo (cheesy, I know, but it was fun anyway. And it didn't take very long, only abut ten minutes so don't worry!).

We had a little bit of fun just goofing off.
And we also tried some pictures outside, but it was cold and it wasn't working so well with getting all of us in the pictures...
So we went back inside and thought this would be cute! So this is our dorm christmas photo.
Oh yeah, we got mistletoe in our dorm. Matt was being a silly boy.

I've been tagged--revised

Link to the person that tagged you, and post the rules on your blog.
Share seven random/weird facts about yourself. Tag seven random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs.
Let each person know that they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

7 strange things about me:

1. When I set my alarm clock, it canNOT be on a 5 or a ten. It's always something random, like 7:17 or 12:58. I don't know why, but I just like to have my alarm set for a weird time.

2. I eat my foods in order of dislike...or order of like but backwards so I end up eating what I like best last. And I never eat a bite of one thing and then a bite of another. I eat it all at once and then move onto the next

3. Heather says that I should mention that I play the harp. It's not really weird, but it's not really normal either. I love the harp. I love it.

4. My laptop is named Lloyd, after Lloyd Dobler from Say Anything. My car also has a name. He's Jack, but that's just because he looks like a gentleman.

5. I discovered something interesting about myself this week. I've had a whole lot of tests and papers due these past few days, which has caused me a lot of stress. Well, for the past two nights I've been told that I've talked in my sleep. I've hissed something that sounded like "suck it" or "second" and apparently Heather thought I was going to kill her. And then last night I actually said a whole sentence...but Heather had her ear phones in, so she can't tell me what I said.
But there you have it, I talk in my sleep when I'm stressed.

6. I'm still stuck on what to add.

7. And I have no one else to tag...so this is going nowhere.

Dear Rexburg, it's going to get cold

Last night I was looking at the weather forecast for the next ten days herein wonderful Rexburg, Idhao.
Six of the next days have been forecast with snow and cold cold weather. I am not looking forward to this. But actually, it's not going to be too bad. I'll be here for just one more week after Saturday and then I get to go home to Sunny, Warm California! I'm so excited for Thanksgiving break. I am SO excited for Thanksgiving break.
On another note, Elliott responded on Monday. I came home from dance feeling very irritated because he wasn't there and I was just in a bad mood and then I saw a big pack of double stuffed oreos on our porch...and a note that said, "I would be OVERSTUFFED to go to Preference with you!!!!!! Elliott Dennis". And then I was all happy and giggly. And apparently we're going to the dance in togas. The theme is Famous Couples in History and Elliott thinks wearing togas would be fun. Soooo we'll see!
Another guy in my dance class, Aaron, has asked me to dance a swing routine with him for som Mr. BYU-Idaho pagent his ward is having. We got together on Monday night to learn some lifts and drops and it's so fun! I can now do the candle stick, the L drop, and a backflip! I'm way stoked about this...

I've slacked in updating.
Alright, this past week seemed soooo long, probably because Halloween was in the center.

Last Sunday Heather and I bonded with our roommates! We spent a good two or three hours just taking pictures on Heather's Mac and it was amazing

Top to Bottom: Kelli, Shalee, Kelli, Me, Heather. We're awesome.

Earlier on Sunday Kelli and I were listening to Queen's song 'Fat Bottom Girls' and we decided it would be funny to become fat bottom girls...so we did...and it was amazingSunday night we continued to bond when me Shelly, Kelli, and Heather finished watching 'Titanic'. It's a good movie, I have to admit. At the end of it, we were all just sobbing. It was very girlish, but still really fun. I really like Kelli and Shelly. Shalee, well, she's always talking to her boyfriend on the phone so she never really does anything with us. Oh well, Kelli and Shelly are still awesome. Next fall we want to room with them again!

Okay, the date last weekend with the RM. It was really fun! We went and picked out pumpkins and then carved them and watched 'The Princess Bride'. And here Miriam, is a picture of Adam

On tuesday night we went to the Haunted Mill with our FHE group but all my roommates chicked out! I was soooo scared but Elliott said he'd come with me. So we went and I even got to drive Shalee's car since we needed it. I was stoked about driving...but so scared of going. In the end it was so fun and I'm glad went, so it's all good.

L to R-Top: Alicia, Cody, Taylor, Chase
Middle- Amy, Eryn, Me, Hilary, and Mary
Bottom- Elliott, and Sam
I donno who the two guys on the right are

On Halloween after we picked up my costume, Heather and I went to the Gardens for a costume photo shoot. These two are my favorites of me

While we were there these two little girls called to me saying, "Hello Belle! Hello!" And then they came over and talked to me.
And they wanted to take picture with me. I felt like I was at Disneyland! It was sooo cool

Here are the roommates!
But that was before we found Heather's costume of incredible awesomeness

Me and Carley Clayton, the Disney Princesses

We found newsies!!! You have NO idea how excited we were to find them. They're pretty.
Me dancing with the Tooth Fairy...gooood times! Hahaha, Matt Wood is amazing
Matt Wehle was a kissing booth! I got to kiss his face with lipstick...
And then the roommates in our final Costumes.
Ninja Turtle, Optimus Prime (tranformers!), Pirate Wench, Robin, and Belle.

It was a good Halloween week.

Ward Halloween Parrrtay

This is supposed to be Hermione and Luna battling Bellatrix Lestrange, but I think I look too terrified...

The Harry Potter-ites!

We are Chapman 468! The roooomies

L to R: Shelly, Kelli, and Shalee!

Amanda and Heather (aka Hermione and Luna)...the coolest roommates to ever attend BYU-Idaho

This is our dear friend, Eryn. She dressed up as a little girl playing dress up.

This is Amy, she's in our FHE group and she is cousins with the Bennets from Moorpark. She's pretty much awesome!

Me carving a pumpkin...it was a slow process

This is the other Matt. He directs the ward choir and since I'm the ward music chairperson, we end up talking a lot. He's a funny kid!

He's also an incredible flirt

At one point, Heather said we almost had a ncmo at the ward halloween party! Probably because he twisted my inviting him to our apartment to help me download something into something terribly suggestive. Scandelous!

Tonight was the ward Halloween party! Heather and I were very very excited to put on our costumes and go all dressed up. Unfortunately, when we went to pick up Belle costume from the theater costume shop, they'd already rented it out for the weekend! I was really ticked...no seriously, when we found the dress we asked if we could put it on hold or something and the woman asured us no one would rent it.

And someone did.

Grrrr!

Oh well, it'll be back on Monday!

Heather and I dressed up a Hermione an Luna from Harry Potter instead. It was a pretty big hit and everyone loved it. We even went to our Book of Mormon class all dressed up! It was pretty sweet.

Provo!

This weekend Heather was planning on going to Provo to visit her friends from Virginia that she hadn't seen in two years. I rreeeeaaallly wanted to go, but I have a class at two on Fridays and her ride left around 1:30. Soooo, you can bet I was super excited when I found out my teacher was still sick therefore we weren't having our Lecture class! So, about an hour before they were leaving I jumped out of bed (I came home and was sleeping after my 7:45 class...I had no more classes that day!) and packed and went off to Provo! Lucky charlotte was able to have meover...because it was random.
Oh, and it was perfect! She was saying how she had to do homework on Saturday and I had to write a paper! It was briiiilliant!
And of course, the weekend I go to Provo, it snows. And sticks. It was fun, but not so much this morning when we were walking to church and it was freezing and then I nearly died walking in my shoes and the hill and blaaahhh. I'm glad I don't have to spend the entire winter in the snow.
So yes, this weekend has been fun. We went and got ice cream that they made with liquid nitrogen and it was cooool. If anyone wants to goto Sub Zero in Orem, get the Custard cakebatter ice cream with cookie dough. Its the best.

Morning

I woke up this morning feeling so incredibly sick and disgusting and I'm not quite sure why. It's not like a flu or cold sick, it's just a blah sick feeling. I ended up turning off my alarm and going back to sleep, thus sleeping through my first class (not too big of a deal, though I did miss a quiz...but I've gotten 100% on all the other quizzes except one on which I got an 80% so it's not really a big deal). By the time I woke up and got ready for dance, I was feeling even worse. I absolutely did not want to go, but I had a test so I kind of had to. Dance ended up being fine and we did well on the dance test but now ever time I go to move my bangs from my eyes or rub my nose etc. I smell Aaron, my dance parter's cologne and I feel like heaving. Blaaaah.
On another note, it's supposed to snow tonight, tomorrow, friday, and Saturday. Thrilling. I'm excited but then again not really. I don't know. I seem to be full o a bunh of mixed thoughts ad feelings right now.
I blame this on menstration.

I have an A&P test tomorrow as well as an A&P quiz on totally different things.
ew.

The Polar Bear, Ocelot, Red Tail Hawk, Gazelle, and Panda

The past few nights all the girls in my dorm have all sat out in the living room and talked and giggled and watched movies together. It's pretty exciting because it's the first times we've all hung out together. I spend most of my time with Heather (she's going to Provo this weekend without me and I have NO idea what I'm going to do without her...it's kind of weird thinking about all the time I'll have to myself) and then I know Shalee because she comes and talks with us and watches comedians on youtube with us, so that's fun. I've only recently been talking with Shelly more and she is so sweet. Kelli, well, I don't really know her. She's kind of got her guys and drama there so she's not really here a whooole lot, but we get along fine.
Anyway, so on Friday night we all sat around and talked and joked and then on Saturday it started out just me and Heather and Shelly looking at movies and talking about boy issues and just bonding. Then we decided to go get a movie with Amanda Bynes in it (Shelly looks like her...a bit) and then Shalee got home so the four of us hunkered down in the front room to watch What a Girl Wants and then Kelli came home and she joined us and somehow we got to talking about what animal we remind each other of. Shalee kind of lead the discussion because she's actually pretty good at putting a person with an animal. I guess I was hard for her because I started out as a Wallaby then went to a blue bird and then ended as a Panda. Good fun! So yes, this is what we are:
Heather the Polar Bear
Kelli the Ocelot
Shalee the Red Tail Hawk
Shelly the Gazelle

And me, the Panda Bear
I think I need a picture of the five of us...
